Android (Zoie Palmer) walks into a bar. It appears as though she has the emo card in her because she’s dressed casually and not acting her normal androidy self. A cute guy buys her a drink. That’s so sweet! With her flashing money around she would need to be more careful. Oh really, dude? Watch how she handles herself. She fights some guys trying to get to her target Danny Bones. The guy at the bar is impressed. She leaves dragging Danny with her. Now that’s how you start an episode!
24 Hours Earlier….
Three (Anthony Lemke) isn’t comfortable with Kal (Roger Cross) being out of isolation. He gets overruled about kicking Kal out for the time being. Two (Melissa O’Neil) goes to the medical wing and updates Kal on his ship status. She does ask him how they could find what the Galactic Authority (GA) knows about the Derrick Moss murder investigation. He suggests an understaffed police station at an isolated post to hack in directly. Three doesn’t agree with the plan and thinks Kal is playing them. Two doesn’t think so. Since they are all on the GA’s most wanted list they aren’t going anywhere near a station. Android volunteers to help. Since she wasn’t charged, she wouldn’t be on the GA’s radar. The easiest way to get in would be to get arrested. She shows them the emo card she received from Victor so the police wouldn’t suspect she was an android. She keeps mum about where she got it, especially since it is considered illegal tech. She does admit that she was considering using it. Android realizes the risk she’s taking, but she wants to help catch One’s killer just like the rest of them.
They dock at a station. Two insists everyone stays onboard while the Android goes undercover. Five wonders if she can pull it off. Android surprises Three, Five (Jodelle Ferland), and Two wearing regular clothes. Two and Five thinks she looks great. Android even pats Three on his butt. As she goes out she reassures them that she’s got this.
Her few attempts at trying to get arrested are not successful until she tears the cop’s shirt. Four watches a news report about two planets disrupting the major corporations trade routes and asking the GA to step in. It sounded like one of the planets was Four’s home. At the police station, Android, whose undercover name is Kiva Stevens, manages to get the guy manning the desk distracted enough to put a flash drive in a panel so they could hack the GA network. That poor GA officer probably got sick of going back and forth to get her coffee. Two and Five are able to get the information they need. Android’s first mission is a success! Three compliments her on a job well done. Two asks both of them to meet her on the bridge. Two and Five tell the Android, Four, and Three that the GA suspended the investigation but had a suspect. Five shows on the monitor the hotel security footage from after One was shot. It’s Jace Corso (Marc Bendavid)!
Everyone except Kal are in the eating area. Two thinks that Jace Corso could’ve been a hired assassin but whoever hired him wanted everyone else to think Jace if caught was getting revenge because One looked like him. Even though Jace has warrants all around the galaxy, it will be very hard to find him. Five wonders if anyone knows people in the Adara Sector. Devon (Shaun Sipos) knows some guys. Five asks that they help them find Corso. Devon goes to his room to get high again. We start to see flashes of him in a surgery, a kid, his shaking hands and the monitors going crazy.
Four (Alex Mallari Jr) finds Android is practicing with swords. It helps her feel powerful and produce more patterns into her neural matrix. Four invites her to go on another mission to pick up the guy they were looking for, Danny Bones. We are now caught up with Android capturing Danny from the bar.
He is tied up by Nyx (Melanie Liburd) and gets questioned by Two and Five. He initially denies knowing Corso but Five busts him out by saying a guy named Wexler already told them. He’s afraid that if he rats out Corso he will come after him and his family. Two reassures him that if he does give them the info they need Corso won’t be coming back.
At the police station the crew hacked Chief Inspector Kierken (Lost Girl alum Kristen Holden-Reid) walks in startling the poor front desk guy. Inspector Kierken has him check the system for recent detainees. He notices the Android. Another GA officer finds the drive that hacked the system. It seems the crew of the Raza took Kierken’s bait because now he knows where they are headed, after Corso. Darn it!
The crew arrives outside the planet Corso is located. Word on the street is Jace is convinced someone has put a hit on him, so he’s paranoid. He is at an abandoned plant. Nyx wants to join Four, Two, and Three. Even though it isn’t her fight, she wants it to be because they should all fight together and ride together. At first they are reluctant until she shows she can handle a gun.
Kal is trying to push his recovery. Five comes in to let him know they found Corso. He doesn’t agree that killing Corso for revenge will solve anything. Five defends the decision because the way she sees, it they have been running for so long it’s time to start fighting back.
Jace watches from his sniper scope while Four, Two, Nyx, and Three look for him in the area he’s hiding. For some reason they are not whispering while trying to find Jace. Nyx senses where he is and pushes Two out the way when Jace starts shooting. Everyone takes cover. Back on the ship, Devon asks Five and the Android the status. They haven’t heard anything yet. He’s wondering if Android is going to keep her look, she wonders if he is going to keep his. That stumped him! Five laughs. The monitor starts beeping. A GA cruiser just came out of FTL. Android has an idea so they can remain undetected. Back on the planet, Jace is playing cat and mouse. Three just misses him. Android lands the ship on the planet. There was a little bit of a bumpy landing. She turns off all but the emergency power so the GA cruiser doesn’t detect them from orbit.
Two and Nyx catches up with Jace but he manages to evade them again. They surround him and manages to shoot him in the leg but he closes himself into a panic room. He boasts that he has enough supplies to last for days. Nyx recognizes the model. They can manually activate the door from a panel they have to cut their way into. On the ship Kal is wondering what the heck is going on. Brought up to speed, he wonders how the GA found them so fast. Android makes the case that they may be there for Corso. Five wants to warn the others. Since they can’t send any type of electronic communication they will have to go on foot. Their shipped landed about 2.2 miles from the plant. Kal wants to go, despite Devon’s advice that he should take it easy so he doesn’t get internal bleeding. Kal will worry about that later.
Jace removes the bullet and staples himself up. Four brings some tools to open the door. Jace’s monitor is able to detect the breach and quickly sets his emergency protocol, whatever that is. When the doors open Corso has disappeared. Two finds a trapdoor, the follow the rabbit hole into some tunnels. Meanwhile the GA crew are closing in. Dang that was fast! Two catches up with Jace and takes away his gun. Inspector Kierken has found the room and the trapdoor. Kal and the others are still trudging their way to the building. Two finds Corso’s device counting down. She tries to warn Nyx, Three, and Four but can’t get a response. Several explosions go off. Two makes it unscathed with Corso and gets him to start digging their way out. Nyx saves Three from rocks collapsing on his head. Where’s Four? Kierken makes it but his partner doesn’t. He presses on. Part of Four is trapped under some rubble where Kierken finds him. Darn it! Four isn’t talking when Kierken wonders if Boone and Lin are with him. He’s confident that his men will find him with the beacon he has which is stronger than regular comms.
Corso seems insulted that Two is there to get revenge on Derrick Moss. He felt Moss was a coward and weak. Two defends him saying he was still a member of her crew. Three is forced to have some bonding time with Nyx while trying to find another way out. She does provide vague answers when he asks how she knew the rocks were going to crumble where he was. Kierken tries to find out how Four escaped from prison. He figures it was an inside job. He thinks having the corporations in control of the prisons is a recipe of corruption. Four starts getting in how the GA works for the corps and they are just as twisted. Kierken needs to stop deluding himself. He sounds a lot like Kal. Two lets Corso take a brief break. He believes that he and Portia Lin (Two) had a lot in common and seems surprised that Moss wasn’t killed for his duplicity. He thinks that since Two is now starting to care her reputation is done. Jace should’ve just kept his mouth shut. Two gets him back to work on digging them out.
The structure is weakening from the explosions. Everyone needs to hurry up and get the hell out of there! Four tries to get Kierken to help him out so they can escape together. He promises that he wouldn’t kill him. Kierken thinks he’s a common criminal but Four insists he was betrayed so he just survives at this point. His reasons are moot when Kierken’s men find him. Jace finished digging but before Two kills him, he tries to tell her who hired him. It wasn’t Traugott but someone else. She doesn’t care right now because he pulled the trigger. A shot to the head should do the trick. Nyx and Three finally finds another exit.
Kal almost doesn’t make it to the building but Five finds the GA shuttle. There is a stand-off between the GA and Three, Nyx, and Two. Kierkan wants them to go on trial for their crimes. Two and Four mention that someone attempted to kill them while in prison so they won’t last in custody. The GA shuttle arrives to tip the scales for the Raza Crew. Four isn’t going anywhere with the GA. The crew escapes via FTL before the GA can catch up with them. Whew, thank goodness!
Kal wonders if Two regrets killing Corso. She doesn’t but the fact that Jace mentioned someone other than Traugott hired him has her thinking. Kal does mention how One was suspicious about the CEO of his company. Three walks in hungry but leaves seeing Kal there. Devon does tell him that Kal risked his life to save his. There are things that Three and Kal need to work out, but hopefully that changes soon. The ship shakes briefly but Android assures two that there’s nothing to worry about. Projected Android (Pro-Android) makes an appearance getting Android to admit that she made a mistake in how she landed the ship. Pro-Android’s assessment: Android’s had a flaw for a while now and the fact that she decided to upgrade has made things worse. She is now a danger to the ship and the crew. Android doesn’t know what to do.
More Thoughts
This episode in a lot of ways was Android’s episode. It was nice to see another good fight scene with her in it. Now that the upgrade is there, will Two or anyone else start thinking of potential problems that can occur? Will Android keep making mistakes? I liked that you could still see a little bit of her innocent literal android personality with the upgrade. I was a little disappointed that Kierken didn’t have a scene with Android since both actors were on the show Lost Girl. I wonder if we’ll see more of him. He has to be still on the hunt.
I thought it was interesting how Jace felt he had a lot in common with Portia Lin. Makes me wonder if Portia would’ve hooked up with Jace like One hooked up with Two. So is there no way at this point One could be alive? That would really suck!
Three still seems to be really pissed at Kal aka Six. I’m wondering if part of that is because One was killed as a result from that betrayal?
When Nyx asked to tag along it reminded me of school where the new kid wanted so bad to be part of the cool kids’ club. It’s like Nyx wants to fit in so badly. Fortunately, she can pull her weight. I still want to know how she has all of these instincts.
