Hi everyone! Today I just want to remind y’all that tomorrow is the NFL Draft! This year’s draft will take place in Cleveland, Ohio. The NFL Draft will run from tomorrow to Saturday. I am excited about which players will be drafted by the NFL teams! The NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell will be the host of the NFL draft as usual. You are going to hear people booing at him when he announces each pick. Now, this year’s draft is going to look the same as it did last year when every team gets to select the player, they want virtually meaning they will be doing it on zoom. So, the Jacksonville Jaguars will be the first team to pick in the first round. I think they will take Trevor Lawrence, a quarterback from Clemson. I also think the 49ers or the Falcons will take the quarterback, but of course it can change because there are going to be teams that will be trading up and down which happens every draft year. The Arizona Cardinals are going to be picking at No. 16 in the first round. I think they need to draft a corner-back since Patrick Peterson is now gone to the Minnesota Vikings. Caleb Farley the corner-back from Virginia Tech was set to attend the NFL draft, but when the test results came back on Covid, he tested positive. But I think he is good to go, however, he has some injuries. He battled sciatica (pain that radiates along the sciatic nerve through the hips and buttocks and down each leg) throughout his first-team all-ACC season in 2019, eventually missing the Hokies’ last two games, and underwent a discectomy in February 2020 to remove a small part of bone. He recovered and resumed training, but opted out of the 2020 season because of COVID-19 concerns and to prepare for the draft. I don’t think that the Cardinals should draft a guy who has some serious injuries like Caleb Farley, but this guy There’s no denying that Farley is a tremendous talent. He defended an ACC-high 16 passes and registered four interceptions in 2019 despite missing the final two games of the season with an injury.
Farley is also a plus-size corner-back at 6’2″ and 197 pounds, which undoubtedly has teams interested.
Of course, they are other corner-back options for the Arizona Cardinals such as Patrick Surtain from the University of Southern Mississippi, and Jaycee Horn from the South Carolina Gamecocks. The concern is that the Dallas Cowboys who are picking at No.8 may take one of those guys and they would be gone by the time the Cardinals pick. The question is do the Cardinals trade down to get more picks or try to move up in front of the Cowboys? I think its best to trade down to acquire more picks and possibly select the best player available. The Arizona Cardinals need to address their defense by drafting a corner-back, but they should not try to draft Caleb Farley because of his injuries.
So, we will see what happens tomorrow when the NFL Draft starts tomorrow!
